About the position
As a project manager, you lead all phases of project work; from conceptualization and scoping to project execution and follow-up. From the beginning, you will get a large responsibility for planning and executing on our projects, including guiding a team of consultants and referring to global management. As a project manager, you will oversee multiple workstreams simultaneously and work closely with colleagues on all levels and directly with our clients and partners nationally and internationally.
As our projects span across thematic and geographic areas, you should be ready to engage in a variety of workstreams across different projects. Previous project engagements span across designing and facilitating multi-stakeholder convenings in e.g. Singapore, New Delhi, Copenhagen, and San Francisco; producing creative content in print and online to amplify key messages on pressing global development issues; and creating and executing communication strategies for private and public clients. We prioritize your individual learning journey and will carefully nurture your professional growth via mentoring and tailored project work.
Main tasks will include:
- Lead project teams in problem solving and project execution
- Manage and plan work streams and coach, manage and support junior team members
- Lead meeting activities, including presenting messages to experienced audiences
- Finetuning and quality assessing project deliverables
- Reporting on project progress and challenges to global management
- Contributing to the on-going strategic development of Dalberg Media’s project portfolio, including by initiating business development and creating impactful partnerships
Given the close linkages between our projects, you will be exposed to a wide range of focus areas. Consequently, you should be open to and thrive with changing priorities and challenges. Given the shifting nature of most of our work, longer hours can be expected in peak periods.
You have a strong profile in global development and innovation, an entrepreneurial mindset and a self-starter attitude. You are motivated by accelerating innovative ideas and solutions to create a better and more sustainable world. You enjoy leading teams with a combination of analytical skills and emotional intelligence. You are a savvy communicator who simplify complex findings and processes and structure clear-cut messaging for clients and broader audiences.
Ideally, your qualifications include:
- A master’s degree within International Business, Political Science, Communications, Development or a related field with an excellent academic record
- Min. 3 year’s work experience, ideally in the intersection between global development and innovation, and ideally min. 1 year’s work experience as a project manager e.g. in a top-tier consultancy firm
- Creative mindset and an ability to independently manage and drive several parallel workstreams forward with the team
- Structured approach to plan and lead rigorous analysis and present key messages in front of experienced audiences
- Strong people skills to build, lead and nurture client and partner relations
- Experience working with social entrepreneurship and innovation processes is an advantage, but not a requirement
- Fluency in written and oral English
The position will be located in Copenhagen, but openness to work-related travel is a prerequisite.
Your application should include a resume, cover letter and university transcripts. Please send your application to Laura Werup on firstname.lastname@example.org no later than March 31, 2019.
