Join us and become Director of Substations Engineering & Fabrication Management in our Substations Global Engineering functional area where you’ll report to the Head of Substations and become member of his senior management team. The functional area is responsible for delivering highly specialised engineering, design and EPC project management services and competences for our global pipeline of offshore wind projects across North America, United Kingdom, Continental Europe and Asia-Pacific within the technical areas covering on and offshore substations and O&M buildings.
Your key tasks will be to
- provide skilled and competent resources with the right mindset to projects and programmes
- assure quality of work performed by own resources
- recruit, train and manage people development
- raise risks and propose mitigations for own functional area
- maintain and develop concepts and knowledge including lessons learned in best practice.
You’ll furthermore set the direction in relation to technology development within the sphere of responsibility of your technical function in close collaboration with your lead specialists, the chief specialists of Substations and colleagues in the product lines and R&D to ensure we stay ahead of our competitors in relation to our technical deliverables.
Moreover, you’ll take ownership and maintain our frameworks, processes, systems, tools and policies to ensure global compliance and best practice are followed across our four regions, manage ad-hoc cross-regional improvements projects to increase business performance and drive our talent agenda to ensure we can continue our growth.
Your competences include that you

- are skilled at managing stakeholders, as you’ll be cooperating with many types of people
- are able to keep the bigger picture in mind at all times, yet you understand the importance of minding the details from the minor to the larger ones.
Furthermore, you’ll have significant leadership and technical management experience from a similar position in an international company and experience with working in a strong matrix organisation.
It’s important that you have a bachelor’s or a master’s degree in civil or structural engineering, solid technical understanding and relevant experience within the on and offshore industry.
Additionally, you have solid experience with development and construction of large CAPEX multidisciplinary projects and good business acumen and understanding of the key drivers that influence business performance.
As we operate in a highly international environment, you must speak and write English fluently.
